Chris Blackwell, ACP, FRP – Parliamentarian

Chris has been a paralegal with Lewis, Longman & Walker, P.A.  since 2010.   Chris started her career as a medical secretary in an orthopedic group for several years working with the auto accident, slip and fall and workers compensation patients and their attorneys.  She dealt with their medical records as well as getting the doctors to depositions and trials.  As a result, she became interested in the legal field and wondered if she could get a job in a law office.  A small personal injury firm took a chance because of her medical and insurance background and  began to teach her what she needed to know about the law.  She started as a receptionist and within 8 months was doing paralegal work and 3 months later was enrolled at Palm Beach State College in the paralegal program and has been hooked ever since.  Now, Chris has been a paralegal for over 16 years.    She first joined PAF in 2005, obtained her certification over 10 years ago and her advanced certification in trial practice 7 years ago.  Chris has served on the HCE Committee for many years in addition to serving as the committee chair for 4 years and running the silent auction for a couple of years after that.  Chris has also served our chapter as the treasurer.
